The research defines features and architectural qualities of the contemporary hospital buildings and focalizes the spaces supporting the therapeutic activity. The study of typological and theoretical contributions and the analysis of representative examples of recent architecture explain the meaning of the changes. A system of evaluating architectural qualities is useful to understand the future development and set up the guidelines for design.
